Bruce Overby holds an MFA in Writing from Queens University of Charlotte. His fiction addresses issues of loss and belonging, family and relationships, the human condition in a technology-driven world, and addiction. His debut novel, The Cyclone Release, was a finalist in the Madville Publishing Blue Moon Novel Competition and was published by Madville in November 2022. His story “Bookmarks” won First Prize in the Lorian Hemingway Short Story Competition. His fiction has appeared the Evening Street Review, the Green Mountains Review, Storyglossia, and the anthology Home of the Brave: Stories in Uniform from Press53.
